The Shuunnya promise

Porous tools thrown away in front of you, metal tools autoclaved with the indicator strip shown, and a flat refusal to take a blade to a callus at any price.

  • Emery board, buffer, stick, liner: sealed pack in, bag out, never reused
  • Nippers and pushers autoclaved at 121 C and 15 psi for 20 minutes
  • No credo knife and no callus blade, ever. A foot file and more time instead
  • Shea and Oat syndet bar at pH 5.5 for the soak, not a pH 10 soap

Details

A manicure and a pedicure, ninety minutes, in your own chair with your feet in a lined tub. Nail work is where salon hygiene is at its worst and it is also where the consequences are worst, because a nipper that broke skin on the last person is carrying that person's blood. So this listing is mostly about tools, and it is specific. Porous things are never reused. An emery board, a buffer, a wooden cuticle stick, a pumice block and a tub liner cannot be sterilised, because they absorb. They come out of a sealed pack at the start of your visit and go into a bag that leaves with the therapist. Any salon reusing a nail file on you is doing the equivalent of reusing a bandage. Metal is autoclaved, not wiped. Cuticle nippers, pushers and toe clippers are scrubbed, ultrasonically cleaned for eight minutes, pouched, and run at 121 C and 15 psi for 20 minutes. The pouch has an indicator strip that only changes colour if the cycle held, and it is opened in front of you so you can see it. Blue liquid in a jar is not sterilisation; it is a disinfectant that a hepatitis B virus survives comfortably. And no blade touches a callus. The credo knife or callus blade that most pedicures use is a scalpel in an untrained hand, and on anyone with reduced sensation in the feet it is how a small cut becomes a foot ulcer. We use a foot file and take longer. If your callus needs a blade, it needs a doctor. Products: the soak is Shuunnya Care Shea and Oat Bathing Bar, a syndet at a measured pH 5.5 rather than a real soap, because soap at pH 9 to 10 on already-dry feet is why they crack. The massage is Shuunnya Care Everyday Body Lotion, urea assayed at 5.06 percent, about 8 ml on hands and 12 ml on feet. Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya and nobody is engaged for this role yet. Bookings open when a police-verified person has passed the practical assessment, and not before. We name a service area and we do not name an arrival time, because we have no crew whose travel we could honestly promise anything about.

  • 90 minutes: 40 on hands, 50 on feet
  • Nails shaped, cuticles softened and pushed back, one gentle nipper pass only where there is a genuine hangnail
  • Plain polish in one of six colours, or buffed bare, and no charge either way
  • Honest trade-off: cuticles are pushed, not cut back to the moon. A cut cuticle looks better for four days and then grows back thicker and ragged, and the seal it made against infection is gone for a week

Product information

What is included, minute by minute, with the products named
Total
90 minutes. 40 on the hands, 50 on the feet, feet second because that is the order that does not carry foot skin onto clean hands.
Hands, 40 min
Polish removed with an acetone-free remover, nails cut and filed to the shape you ask for, soak 5 minutes, cuticles softened and pushed back with a fresh wooden stick, one nipper pass only on a genuine hangnail, buff, 8 ml of Shuunnya Care Everyday Body Lotion massaged in for 6 minutes, polish or bare.
Feet, 50 min
Tub lined with a fresh liner, warm water at about 40 C with Shuunnya Care Shea and Oat Bathing Bar, soak 10 minutes, nails cut straight across and filed, cuticles pushed, hard skin taken down with a foot file over several passes, 12 ml of lotion massaged in for 10 minutes, polish or bare.
Nails cut straight across
On toes, always. A curved cut into the corner is the single commonest cause of an ingrown toenail, and it is done because it looks tidier for a fortnight.
Polish
Six plain colours plus clear. Included either way, and buffed-bare costs the same, so nobody is nudged into polish to justify the price.
Water
About 6 litres, from your tap, heated by us. The tub is ours, the liner is new, and the tub is rinsed and dried before it goes back in the bag.
What the struck price is
Rs 1079 is the standing rate for this work. Rs 899 is the opening rate while Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya. A crew with no track record in this district should not charge what a proven one does, and that is the whole of the difference. It is not a countdown and there is no deadline on it.
What is not included, and two things we will not do
No gel, no extensions, no acrylic
Gel needs a UV lamp and a proper removal soak, and removal done badly takes the top layer of the nail plate with it. Extensions and acrylic are not offered at home at any price.
No nail art
Plain colour only. A design needs a table, a lamp and forty more minutes.
No callus blade, at any price
Not a credo knife, not a razor shaver, not for a callus, not for a corn. If you have diabetes, neuropathy or any reduced sensation in your feet, this is not a preference, it is the difference between a pedicure and an ulcer. A foot file and more passes instead.
No cutting cuticles back
Softened and pushed, and one nipper pass on a real hangnail. The cuticle is the seal between the nail fold and everything else, and cutting it away is why paronychia is a salon infection.
If you have diabetes
Tell us at booking. We still do the treatment, with no filing pressure on the soles, no nipper at all, no soaking beyond 5 minutes, and a note to see a podiatrist for anything hard or cracked. If you would rather we did not touch your feet, we do the manicure and charge Rs 449.
Fungal or infected nails
If a nail is thickened, lifting or discoloured through the plate, the therapist stops on that nail, does not file it, and tells you. Filing a fungal nail spreads it across the other nine and onto the file.
Who comes, hygiene, and if something goes wrong
Who is coming, and when you find out
You get the name of the person and their photograph on the booking confirmation, before they set off. If a different person has to come, you are told before they leave and you can decline without any charge. Nothing is subcontracted: the person at your door is engaged by Poise At Home, not a partner agency and not whoever was free.
Where we come
Gaya town: A.P. Colony, Rampur, Delha, Chandauti, Magadh Colony, Kendui, Bodhgaya road up to the bypass. Outside that ring we say no rather than take the booking and be late. No arrival-time promise: you get a two-hour window and a call when the person leaves for you.
What is single-use and thrown away in front of you
Anything porous cannot be sterilised, so it is never reused: emery boards, buffers, cotton, wooden cuticle sticks, wax spatulas, threading thread, razor blades, tub liners, sponges and applicators. They come out of a sealed pack at the start of your visit and go into a bag that leaves with the therapist.
How reusable tools are sterilised
Scrubbed under running water, then eight minutes in an ultrasonic bath, then pouched and run through a Class B tabletop autoclave at 121 C and 15 psi for 20 minutes. Each pouch carries a chemical indicator strip that changes colour only if the cycle actually held, and the pouch is opened in front of you so you see the strip. The autoclave is spore-tested with Geobacillus stearothermophilus once a month, because a colour strip proves heat and only a spore test proves the machine kills anything.
Why blue jar liquid is not enough
A jar of disinfectant on a salon counter is a holding solution, not a sterilant, and hepatitis B survives on a surface for days. Anything that can break skin has to be heat sterilised or thrown away, and there is no third option that is honest.
The rework window
Seven days. A chipped polish inside 48 hours, an uneven shape or a nail filed short of what you asked is redone free with no second visit fee. Polish chipped after a week of washing up is wear, not a fault.
If skin is broken
The therapist stops, cleans it, uses a single-use dressing, and there is no charge for that part of the visit. If a nail fold goes red and swollen in the days after, tell us and we pay for the doctor visit, whatever the cause turns out to be.
If something is damaged or you react
A towel goes under everything and the floor is swept and the sink rinsed before we leave. If we stain a surface, mark a floor or break something, we pay to put it right, and you do not have to argue about it. If your skin reacts to something we applied, stop the session, we stop charging from that point, and we pay for a doctor visit. This is why the patch test on colour is a requirement and not a suggestion.
The honest gap
Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya and nobody is engaged for this role yet. Bookings open when a police-verified person has passed the practical assessment, and not before. We name a service area and we do not name an arrival time, because we have no crew whose travel we could honestly promise anything about.
