Details
Wedding day makeup, hair and draping, at home, four hours, Rs 12,000 all in. Less Rs 2,500 if you have had a trial with the same artist inside 90 days, so Rs 9,500. A wedding cannot be rescheduled. That asymmetry is the whole reason this page reads differently from every other one in the catalogue. If a plumber fails you, you book another plumber. If we fail you on this morning, there is no second morning, and no rework window is worth anything at all. So the terms below are written as money and names rather than as an apology, because an apology on that morning is worthless. If your artist cannot attend. A second artist is named at the time of booking, she is given your trial photographs and your written notes that same week, and she is held for your date. If neither can come, for any reason including illness on the morning, you get a full refund of everything paid, same day, plus Rs 5,000 towards whoever you find at short notice. That is not a goodwill gesture and you do not have to ask for it twice. What Rs 12,000 covers, to the rupee. The bride only: skin prep, full makeup, hair, and saree or lehenga draping. Travel anywhere inside Gaya town. A touch-up kit left with you. There is no separate charge for early arrival, for a 4 am start, for the artist waiting while the pandit runs late, or for staying an extra half hour to fix a dupatta. What it does not cover. Anyone other than the bride. Family makeup is Party Makeup at Home at Rs 2,200 a face, booked in advance, and one artist realistically does the bride plus two others in a morning. If six of you need doing, we need a second artist and we tell you whether we have one before you book, not on the day. Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya and nobody is engaged for this role yet. Bookings open when a police-verified person has passed the practical assessment, and not before. We name a service area and we do not name an arrival time, because we have no crew whose travel we could honestly promise anything about.
- 4 hours: skin prep 30, base 70, eyes 70, lips and finish 20, hair 50, draping 30
- Base matched to your jaw in daylight and blended to the chest. No lightening base, no fairness product, and none used if a relative hands one over
- Draping: one saree or one lehenga dupatta, pinned to hold through a full day of sitting and standing
- Touch-up kit left with you: blotting paper, the lip colour used, spare pins and a small mirror
Product information
What is included, minute by minute, and what it costs to the rupee
- Total
- 4 hours for the bride. The artist arrives at whatever hour the muhurat needs, including 4 am, at no extra charge.
- The price, exactly
- Rs 12,000, or Rs 9,500 if you had a Bridal Trial at Home with the same artist inside 90 days. That is the whole bill. No early-start charge, no waiting charge, no travel charge inside Gaya town, no charge for the extra half hour when the dupatta needs repinning.
- 0 to 30 min
- Skin prep. Cleanse, Shuunnya Care Light Gel Moisturiser, and ten real minutes for it to settle before any base goes on. Base on wet moisturiser separates by hour three, and hour three of a wedding is the middle of the ceremony.
- 30 to 100 min
- Base. Correction, foundation matched at the jaw in daylight, concealer, contour, blush, and set only where you actually shine. Neck, ears and chest blended.
- 100 to 170 min
- Eyes. The heaviest part of the work and the part that has to survive both crying and a mandap fire. Lid prep, shadow, liner, lashes with fresh adhesive from a sealed tube, mascara on a disposable wand, brows to your own shape.
- 170 to 190 min
- Lips with a disposable applicator, setting spray, then a check at a window in daylight, under an indoor bulb and with a phone flash before anything is called finished.
- 190 to 240 min
- Hair set with the actual jewellery in place, then saree or lehenga dupatta draping, pinned for a full day of sitting, standing and being hugged.
- Travel
- Included anywhere inside Gaya town. Outside it, the actual cost is quoted and agreed in writing before the booking is taken, and it never appears for the first time on the day.
- What the struck price is
- Rs 14400 is the standing rate for this work. Rs 12000 is the opening rate while Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya. A crew with no track record in this district should not charge what a proven one does, and that is the whole of the difference. It is not a countdown and there is no deadline on it.
Cancellation, rescheduling, and the day that cannot move
- If we fail you
- A wedding cannot be rescheduled and no rework window can fix it, so the remedy is money on the day: full refund of everything paid, paid the same morning, plus Rs 5,000 towards whoever you find at short notice. You do not have to argue for it and you do not have to ask twice.
- If your artist cannot attend
- A second artist is named at booking, holds your date, and is given your trial photographs and written notes in the same week. She is not a stranger found on the morning. If she also cannot come, the paragraph above applies in full.
- If you cancel, more than 30 days out
- Full refund of everything paid. No deduction.
- If you cancel, 15 to 29 days out
- Half refunded. The date has been held and other bookings turned away, and we are being plain that this is why rather than calling it an administration fee.
- If you cancel inside 15 days
- No refund. The morning cannot be resold at that notice. This is the harshest line on the page and it is here in writing months before, not discovered in a message on the day.
- If the wedding date moves
- Tell us as soon as you know. If the artist is free on the new date, it moves with no charge at all, however late. If she is not, the second artist takes it, and if neither is free the cancellation ladder above applies from the date you told us, not from the original date.
- What is not included
- Anyone but the bride. Family and friends are Party Makeup at Home, Rs 2,200 a face, booked in advance. One artist does the bride plus about two others in a morning, and we say before you book whether we can staff more, rather than discovering it at 6 am.
- Not offered at all
- No airbrush and no HD claim. No lash extensions. No skin lightening product, no fairness cream, no bleach, no de-tan, and none used even if a relative arrives with one and insists.
Who comes, hygiene, and what is written down
- Who is coming, and when you find out
- You get the name of the person and their photograph on the booking confirmation, before they set off. If a different person has to come, you are told before they leave and you can decline without any charge. Nothing is subcontracted: the person at your door is engaged by Poise At Home, not a partner agency and not whoever was free.
- Brushes, palettes and the no-double-dip rule for makeup
- Cream and liquid products are never touched with a used brush. Everything is decanted onto a stainless steel palette with a fresh disposable spatula, and the brush works off the palette. Mascara and lip products go on with disposable wands, one wand one pass. Brushes are washed after every face, dried, and stored in a closed roll. Pencils are sharpened between faces, which takes the used layer off. A brush going back into a pot is the makeup version of a double-dipped spatula.
- Shade matching, and when we say we cannot
- Matched on your jaw in daylight, never under a bulb, and checked against your chest so the face does not end at the neck. We carry a range and it has ends. If your depth is outside what the artist carries, she tells you before the booking is confirmed and we do not take it, because the alternative is mixing something approximate onto your face on the day.
- No lightening base, and this is the industry cheat
- The base is matched to your skin, not two shades above it. A base lighter than the face is the standing habit of Indian occasion makeup and it is why so many photographs show a grey face on a warm neck. We also carry no fairness product, no whitening cream and nothing containing hydroquinone or mercury, and skin-lightening creams sold in Indian markets have repeatedly been found to contain both.
- What is written into the booking
- Your artist by name. The second artist by name. The arrival time. The total, and whether the trial adjustment applies. Travel, if the venue is outside Gaya town. The cancellation ladder above. All of it before you pay anything, and nothing about it changes afterwards.
- Nothing is subcontracted
- The artist is engaged by Poise At Home. There is no agency, no floating freelancer roster, and no chance of a name you have never heard arriving on the morning.
- If your skin reacts
- This is why the trial exists and why we adjust it in full: a trial is the only safe place to find a reaction. On the day, anything that reacts comes off immediately, the artist works around it, we do not charge for that part, and we pay for the doctor.
- The honest gap
- Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya and nobody is engaged for this role yet. Bookings open when a police-verified person has passed the practical assessment, and not before. We name a service area and we do not name an arrival time, because we have no crew whose travel we could honestly promise anything about.
