The Shuunnya promise

The trial fee comes off the bridal booking in full, skipping the trial costs nothing extra, and the artist who does the trial is named in writing as the one who does the day.

  • Rs 2,500 off the Rs 12,000 in full, if booked within 90 days, same artist
  • Optional. The bridal price is Rs 12,000 with or without a trial
  • The trial artist is named in writing as the artist for the wedding day
  • Shade codes, products and pin notes written down and left with you

Details

Two and a half hours, weeks before the wedding, to see the whole look in daylight and decide about it while there is still time to change your mind. The fee is adjusted in full. If you book Bridal Makeup at Home within 90 days of the trial with the same artist, the whole Rs 2,500 comes off the Rs 12,000, so the bridal day costs Rs 9,500 and the trial has cost you nothing. If you decide against us after the trial, you keep the photographs and the notes and you owe nothing further. An unadjusted trial fee is a charge for a rehearsal, and a rehearsal is our preparation, not your purchase. It is optional and skipping it is not penalised. The bridal booking is Rs 12,000 with or without a trial. Nobody is quoted higher for going straight to the day, and the artist will not tell you the result is at risk because you skipped it. What a trial actually buys is time: time to see the base in your own daylight, time to say the eye is too heavy, and time to change artist entirely if it is not right. The same artist does your wedding. Her name goes on the booking confirmation at the trial, in writing, along with the name of the second artist who has your notes and photographs in case she cannot attend. A trial with one person and a different person on the day is the single most common bridal complaint there is, and it is why the name is written down here. Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya and nobody is engaged for this role yet. Bookings open when a police-verified person has passed the practical assessment, and not before. We name a service area and we do not name an arrival time, because we have no crew whose travel we could honestly promise anything about.

  • 2 hours 30 minutes: consultation 30, full face 90, hair 30
  • Photographed at the end in daylight at a window, under a warm indoor bulb, and with a phone flash, because those are the three lights your wedding photographs will actually be taken in, and a look can pass in one and fail in another
  • Written notes: every product, every shade code, the parting, the pin placement. Yours to keep and to take to another artist if you go elsewhere
  • One look. A second look at the same trial is a second two hours, and we would rather do one properly

Product information

What is included, and exactly how the fee is adjusted
Total
2 hours 30 minutes. Longer than the wedding-day face is fast, because a trial is a conversation with a face being made at the same time.
The adjustment, exactly
Rs 2,500 paid for the trial. Book Bridal Makeup at Home within 90 days, with the same artist, and the full Rs 2,500 is deducted: you pay Rs 9,500 for the day. Not half of it, not a voucher, not a discount code. If you do not book us, you owe nothing more and the notes are still yours.
0 to 30 min
Consultation. Outfit colours, jewellery, the venue lighting, the time of day, how long you will be in it, whether there is a mandap fire and how close. Photographs you like, with the artist saying which parts your features will take and which they will not.
30 to 120 min
The full face, exactly as it would be done on the day. Base matched at the jaw in daylight, blended to the chest, eyes, lashes, lips.
120 to 150 min
Hair set as it would be, with the actual jewellery and the actual dupatta if you have them, because a parting that works bare fails under a maang tikka.
The three photographs
Daylight at a window, warm indoor bulb, phone flash. Sent to you. Most disappointment on a wedding day is a look that was approved in one light and photographed in another.
The written notes
Every product and shade code, the base, the setting, the parting, where each pin went. Yours to keep. If you take it to a different artist, that is a perfectly reasonable outcome and the notes are still yours.
What the struck price is
Rs 3000 is the standing rate for this work. Rs 2500 is the opening rate while Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya. A crew with no track record in this district should not charge what a proven one does, and that is the whole of the difference. It is not a countdown and there is no deadline on it.
What a trial does not do, and what it cannot promise
It does not lock the price
Rs 12,000 is Rs 12,000 with or without a trial. Doing one does not get you a better rate and skipping one does not get you a worse one.
It does not guarantee the day
Skin changes. A trial in November on calm skin does not promise the same skin in February after three weeks of function food and no sleep. The artist will adapt on the day and the notes are the starting point, not a contract.
One look, not three
A second full look at the same trial is another two hours and is booked as a second trial. Trying three looks in one session gives you three rushed ones.
No draping in the trial
Draping is on the wedding day. If you want to test a drape, bring the outfit and the artist will pin one test drape in the last ten minutes at no charge.
If you cancel the trial
More than 48 hours ahead, full refund. Inside 48 hours, we keep Rs 500 for the slot and refund Rs 2,000. On the day with no notice, we keep the Rs 2,500, because the artist travelled and lost the morning.
Nothing is sold at the trial
No package, no advance to lock a date beyond the booking itself, no product to buy. The shade codes are written down precisely so you could buy them yourself if you wanted to.
Who comes, hygiene, and if something goes wrong
Who is coming, and when you find out
You get the name of the person and their photograph on the booking confirmation, before they set off. If a different person has to come, you are told before they leave and you can decline without any charge. Nothing is subcontracted: the person at your door is engaged by Poise At Home, not a partner agency and not whoever was free.
Where we come
Gaya town: A.P. Colony, Rampur, Delha, Chandauti, Magadh Colony, Kendui, Bodhgaya road up to the bypass. Outside that ring we say no rather than take the booking and be late. No arrival-time promise: you get a two-hour window and a call when the person leaves for you.
Brushes, palettes and the no-double-dip rule for makeup
Cream and liquid products are never touched with a used brush. Everything is decanted onto a stainless steel palette with a fresh disposable spatula, and the brush works off the palette. Mascara and lip products go on with disposable wands, one wand one pass. Brushes are washed after every face, dried, and stored in a closed roll. Pencils are sharpened between faces, which takes the used layer off. A brush going back into a pot is the makeup version of a double-dipped spatula.
Shade matching, and when we say we cannot
Matched on your jaw in daylight, never under a bulb, and checked against your chest so the face does not end at the neck. We carry a range and it has ends. If your depth is outside what the artist carries, she tells you before the booking is confirmed and we do not take it, because the alternative is mixing something approximate onto your face on the day.
No lightening base, and this is the industry cheat
The base is matched to your skin, not two shades above it. A base lighter than the face is the standing habit of Indian occasion makeup and it is why so many photographs show a grey face on a warm neck. We also carry no fairness product, no whitening cream and nothing containing hydroquinone or mercury, and skin-lightening creams sold in Indian markets have repeatedly been found to contain both.
The second artist, named now
At the trial you are also given the name of the artist who would come if yours cannot, and she is given your photographs and notes the same week. This is the arrangement that makes the wedding-day terms mean something, and it is set up months early rather than on the morning.
If you do not like the trial
Say so. The artist reworks what she can in the session, and if it is still not right, you owe the Rs 2,500 for her morning and you owe nothing else, and we will not chase you for the wedding booking.
If your skin reacts
This is exactly what a trial is for. Off immediately, cool water, no charge, doctor visit paid, and the product that did it is identified from the written list and never used on you again.
The honest gap
Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya and nobody is engaged for this role yet. Bookings open when a police-verified person has passed the practical assessment, and not before. We name a service area and we do not name an arrival time, because we have no crew whose travel we could honestly promise anything about.
