Seventy-five minutes of oil, scalp massage, steam, a conditioning mask and a wash. That is the whole of it, and the whole of what it does is leave your hair softer and easier to comb for a week or two. A hair spa is where the salon cheat is most complete, because nothing about it is visible. The oil comes out of an unlabelled dispenser. The mask is decanted into a bowl in the back room. The brand named at the counter is not necessarily the brand in the bowl, and there is no way for you to know. And the claims are the second half: growth, thickness, dandruff cured, hair fall stopped. A conditioning treatment does none of those things. So: the oil is Shuunnya Care Cold-Pressed Coconut Hair Oil, one ingredient, free fatty acid 0.12 percent and peroxide value 0.8, 15 ml warmed to about 40 C. Ask instead for Shuunnya Care Herbal Hair Oil with Bhringraj and Amla, which is sesame 70 percent, coconut 16 percent and six herbs at 13.6 percent between them, and you get that at the same price. The wash is Shuunnya Care Gentle Daily Shampoo, 12 to 15 ml, pH 5.0. The finish is Shuunnya Care Lightweight Hair Serum, 4 drops. All in sealed retail packs, opened in front of you. The mask is the one thing here we do not make. Shuunnya Care has no hair mask, so the therapist carries a bought-in professional cationic conditioning mask and shows you the tub and its full ingredient list before the seal is broken. If you would rather nothing unnamed touched your hair, say so at the door: the mask step is dropped and the scalp massage runs to thirty-five minutes instead. The price does not change, because what you are paying for is seventy-five minutes of a trained person's hands, not forty grams of conditioner. What is included, minute by minute, with the products named

Total: 75 minutes. Hair below the waist adds about 10 minutes at the wash and the mask, and those are not charged.
0 to 5 min: Scalp looked at in daylight. If there is active inflammation, open scratching, a fungal patch or lice, the therapist stops here, charges nothing, and tells you what she saw. Oil and massage on an inflamed scalp makes it worse.
5 to 15 min: Shuunnya Care Cold-Pressed Coconut Hair Oil, 15 ml, warmed to about 40 C in a bowl of hot water. Never on a flame, because heat past about 60 C oxidises an oil and a peroxide value of 0.8 is the point of buying it.
15 to 35 min: Twenty minutes of scalp massage, fingertips and not nails, working front to crown to nape. This is the part of the treatment that is worth the money and it is the part most places cut to eight minutes.
35 to 45 min: Steam, 10 minutes, from a hand-held steamer held 20 cm off the scalp, or hot towels changed twice if you would rather not have a machine near you.
45 to 60 min: Conditioning mask, about 40 g, mid-lengths and ends only, left 15 minutes. Bought in, tub shown and ingredient list read out before the seal breaks. Decline it and this becomes a longer massage instead.
60 to 75 min: Wash out with Shuunnya Care Gentle Daily Shampoo, 12 to 15 ml, two rinses, about 6 litres of water. Rough dry, then 4 drops of Shuunnya Care Lightweight Hair Serum. Basin rinsed and floor dried.
What the struck price is: Rs 1199 is the standing rate for this work. Rs 999 is the opening rate while Poise At Home is being stood up in Gaya. A crew with no track record in this district should not charge what a proven one does, and that is the whole of the difference. It is not a countdown and there is no deadline on it.

What is not included, and what this treatment cannot do

No cut: Haircut at Home, Women is Rs 549 and is a separate booking. Booked in the same slot the two run about 2 hours 10 minutes.
No colour, no chemical treatment: No keratin, no smoothing, no rebonding. And no colour on the same day, because colour needs a patch test 48 hours ahead.
The claims we are not making: It does not grow hair. It does not thicken hair. It does not stop hair fall. It does not cure dandruff. It does not repair a split end, because a split end is a mechanical break and the only thing that ends one is scissors.
What it actually does: A conditioning agent lays down on the outside of the hair shaft and lowers friction. Combing gets easier, the hair looks smoother, and it lasts one to two weeks and about three to four washes. That is the honest size of the effect.
If the problem is flaking: Buy Shuunnya Care Scalp Shampoo for Flake-Prone Hair, Rs 420, zinc pyrithione 1.0 percent by formula and 1.02 percent by HPLC assay. Two washes a week for a month does more than any number of these treatments, and it costs less than one of them.
If the problem is hair fall: See a doctor. Sustained hair fall is thyroid, iron, protein intake, a scalp condition or a medication far more often than it is anything a treatment reaches. We are not qualified to work that out and we will not pretend a spa is a first step.

Who comes, hygiene, and if something goes wrong

Who is coming, and when you find out: You get the name of the person and their photograph on the booking confirmation, before they set off. If a different person has to come, you are told before they leave and you can decline without any charge. Nothing is subcontracted: the person at your door is engaged by Poise At Home, not a partner agency and not whoever was free.
Where we come: Gaya town: A.P. Colony, Rampur, Delha, Chandauti, Magadh Colony, Kendui, Bodhgaya road up to the bypass. Outside that ring we say no rather than take the booking and be late. No arrival-time promise: you get a two-hour window and a call when the person leaves for you.
Fragrance-free: Say so at booking. Every Shuunnya Care item in this treatment is already fragrance-free; the bought-in mask is the one that may not be, and in that case it is dropped, not swapped for something unread.
What is single-use and thrown away in front of you: Anything porous cannot be sterilised, so it is never reused: emery boards, buffers, cotton, wooden cuticle sticks, wax spatulas, threading thread, razor blades, tub liners, sponges and applicators. They come out of a sealed pack at the start of your visit and go into a bag that leaves with the therapist.
How reusable tools are sterilised: Scrubbed under running water, then eight minutes in an ultrasonic bath, then pouched and run through a Class B tabletop autoclave at 121 C and 15 psi for 20 minutes. Each pouch carries a chemical indicator strip that changes colour only if the cycle actually held, and the pouch is opened in front of you so you see the strip. The autoclave is spore-tested with Geobacillus stearothermophilus once a month, because a colour strip proves heat and only a spore test proves the machine kills anything.
The rework window: Seven days on the workmanship, and there is honestly little to redo in a conditioning treatment. If the scalp is irritated after, tell us: we stop billing, pay for a doctor visit, and the therapist writes down exactly what went on your head so the doctor is not guessing.
If something is damaged or you react: A towel goes under everything and the floor is swept and the sink rinsed before we leave. If we stain a surface, mark a floor or break something, we pay to put it right, and you do not have to argue about it. If your skin reacts to something we applied, stop the session, we stop charging from that point, and we pay for a doctor visit. This is why the patch test on colour is a requirement and not a suggestion.
