Rs 4,999 treats one affected wall or one bathroom-adjacent patch of up to about 100 square feet: finding the source, hacking the failed plaster back to sound brick, two coats of a cementitious crystalline waterproof coating, re-plastering with mortar dosed with an integral waterproofing compound to IS 2645, then putty, primer and two coats of emulsion. That is the method. Now the part that matters more than the method, and that this trade almost never says. Damp has a source. Treating the inside face of a wall stops the stain and buys time. It does not stop water that is still arriving. If the source is a leaking pipe, a failed terrace, the neighbour's bathroom on the other side of a shared wall, or ground damp rising through the plinth, then internal treatment is a cosmetic repair, and most of this trade sells that cosmetic repair as a cure. So the guarantee here is split honestly and it is written on your quote before you pay. Where we have also fixed the source, the work carries 12 months against the damp returning. Where the source is outside our reach, a neighbour's wall, a terrace we are not permitted on, a municipal line, the work carries no damp guarantee at all, only a workmanship guarantee on the plaster and paint, and we will tell you that in writing before you agree rather than after it comes back. If you would rather spend the money on the source instead, we will say so and quote that instead.

What is not included
- The source
- Repairing a leaking pipe is on the plumbing rate. Terrace waterproofing is Rs 90 to Rs 160 a square foot and a separate quoted job. External wall treatment is quoted on the elevation
- A neighbour property
- Where the water is arriving from an adjoining flat or wall, we cannot enter or treat it, and internal work on your side carries no damp guarantee
- Structural cracks
- Crack stitching and injection grouting into a structural crack are a separate discipline and a separate quote
- Rising damp
- Ground damp rising through the plinth needs a chemical damp-proof course, which is a different job on a different price
- Beyond the patch
- Adjacent walls, ceilings above, and the room repaint around the treated area are quoted separately
- A guarantee we cannot honour
- Where we did not fix the source, no damp guarantee is offered at any price. We will not sell one
Who comes, and what happens if it goes wrong
- Vetting
- Police verification through the local station for anyone entering a home, references from previous work actually contacted, and a trade test plus supervised jobs before the person carries a booking alone. A licence, where the trade has one, is checked against the issuing register and not against a photocopy.
- Qualification
- No statutory licence exists for painting or waterproofing work in India, and we will not invent one. What exists is the trade licence, the police verification, contacted references and our own trade test, and saying the certificate does not exist is more useful to you than implying one.
- Employed or engaged
- At launch the tradesperson may be engaged through our partner network rather than salaried. We say that plainly because the common cheat is a platform that advertises its own crew and dispatches whoever is free. The verification, the method, the checklist and the bill for a redo are ours either way.
- Named before arrival
- You are told the name of the person assigned and which trade licence they carry when the job is assigned, which may be shortly before the visit rather than days ahead.
- Service area
- Gaya town and up to 10 km beyond the municipal limit. A booking outside that area is refused at checkout rather than accepted and then missed.
- Rework window
- 12 months against the damp returning where we also fixed the source. Where the source was outside our reach, 12 months on the plaster and paint workmanship only, and the quote states which of the two you are buying
- Who stands behind it
- The guarantee is an undertaking from Shuunnya LifeStore rather than the individual, so it does not depend on that person still being on the roster
- Not covered
- A new leak, a monsoon that finds a different path, and work altered by someone else afterwards
- Damage
- Hacking plaster is dusty and messy work. Covering, dust sheeting and the clean-up are ours to do, and damage caused by our tool or our hand is repaired at our cost
