Rs 899 deep cleans one chimney, and a second in the same visit is Rs 749. The whole listing turns on one component. A chimney clean that wipes the filters and polishes the outside is the standard version of this job, and it is close to useless, because the grease that killed your suction is on the blower wheel, packed into the gaps between its vanes where nobody looks. A loaded blower wheel moves a fraction of the air a clean one does, and no amount of filter washing changes that. So here the canopy comes off, the blower wheel is removed, soaked and cleaned, and it goes back balanced. The rest: baffle or mesh filters soaked and degreased, the canopy interior degreased, the oil collector emptied and washed, the duct mouth and the non-return flap checked for a choked flap that is quietly strangling the airflow, the motor mount and bearing listened to, and the exterior finished. The degreaser is named, because the same trap exists here as on an air conditioner coil. We use an alkaline degreaser at around pH 11 to 12, aluminium-safe and rinsed off properly. Caustic soda, which is what gets used because it is cheap and dramatic, pits an aluminium blower wheel and eats an aluminium mesh filter, and the damage shows up months later as vibration and a wheel that never gets properly clean again. What is not in the price: the duct beyond the flap, and a fully choked duct is Rs 700 to Rs 1,500 to clear because it means dismantling a run; the motor at Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,800; the control board at Rs 900 to Rs 2,200; the carbon cartridge on a ductless hood at Rs 900 to Rs 1,800; and the auto-clean heater element.
