Gas is not consumed. An air conditioner is a sealed circuit, and if the refrigerant is low then it is leaking, full stop. That single fact is the whole of this listing, because the standard cheat in this trade is built on people not knowing it: a top-up is sold on a system nobody tested, the unit cools for three months, and the same job is sold again. So the rule here is flat and it costs us work. We pressure test first, we find the leak, we repair it, and only then do we charge gas. We will not refill a leaking system that has not been repaired, at any price, and if the leak is somewhere we cannot reach or you would rather not spend on, you pay the leak-test portion of Rs 649 and nothing else, and we write down what fixing it properly would cost. Rs 2,499 covers a 1.5 ton split with an accessible flare-joint leak: nitrogen or standard pressure test, the joint repaired or reflared, a vacuum pulled and held to prove the system is tight and to get the moisture out, then a full charge by weight. A 1 ton is Rs 2,199 and a 2 ton is Rs 2,999. The refrigerant is named, not left vague. Modern splits here take R-32 and slightly older ones R-410A; units from before roughly 2015 often take R-22, which is an HCFC being phased down under the Ozone Depleting Substances Rules of 2000 and which costs more every year. We charge what the nameplate specifies and never a substitute, because R-32 into an R-22 system means the wrong oil and the wrong pressures. The quantity comes off the nameplate too, typically 0.75 to 1.15 kg on a 1.5 ton R-32 split, and it is weighed on a scale you can watch rather than filled by feel or by pressure alone.
