The Shuunnya promise

A motor whose copper is weighed and published, a wattage measured at the wall, and the part that always shears sold for Rs 90.

  • Copper mass and winding resistance published per variant, so CCA cannot hide
  • Rated power is measured input at 230 V under load, not a stall or peak figure
  • SS 304 food-contact jars at 0.8 mm, with brim and working capacity both printed
  • 2 years comprehensive, 5 on the motor, spares held 7 years on tooling we own

Details

A three-jar mixer grinder whose two published numbers are the two the category lies about. The first is the motor. Copper-clad aluminium wire is aluminium with a copper skin; it looks identical at the terminal, it solders like copper, and it is sold every day as a 100 percent copper motor. Copper is 3.3 times denser than aluminium, so a CCA winding of the same rating weighs about half as much, runs hotter and loses its joint over time. The words copper motor are not a claim and we do not make them: the 500 W carries 480 g of electrolytic-grade copper across field and armature, with a field winding resistance of 3.4 ohm and an armature resistance of 1.9 ohm at 25 C, and those three figures are on the test certificate and on a returned unit. The second is wattage. A mixer sold as 750 W is usually quoting the motor's momentary stall rating, not what it draws grinding. Ours is measured input at 230 V under a standard load and it is the same number on the rating plate and on the box. The third cheat is the jar. Stainless with no grade behind it is not a claim either, and a jar body thin enough to dent by hand is not going to stay round; ours are SS 304 food-contact, 0.8 mm, with the capacity given twice because a jar quoted brim-full is a jar you cannot actually fill.

  • 480 g of copper on the 500 W, 620 g on the 750 W, 810 g on the 1000 W, with winding resistances published per variant and checkable on the machine
  • Rated power is measured input at 230 V under load, not a stall figure. 500 W, 750 W or 1000 W by variant
  • Resettable thermal overload on the field winding, tripping at 130 C, so an overload is a two-minute wait and not a dead machine. There is no one-shot fusible link in this motor
  • Jars are SS 304 food-contact, 0.8 mm, with both capacities printed: 1.5 L brim and 1.0 L working on the wet jar, 1.0 L and 0.7 L on the dry, 0.4 L and 0.3 L on the chutney
  • Blades are hardened SS 420 martensitic stainless and they unbolt, so they can be sharpened or replaced instead of the jar being thrown away with them
  • Rated 5 minutes on and 2 minutes off at full load, and that rating is what the thermal design was actually built to rather than a line in the manual
  • 78 dB(A) at 1 m, measured dry-grinding 100 g of coriander seed in the 1.0 L jar against a 34 dB(A) background, where the category norm is 92 to 95 dB(A). It came from a damped base and a balanced rotor, not a thicker jar
  • The coupler is the part that always shears. Ours is a stocked spare at Rs 90 that changes in about two minutes with one screw, and it is a standard profile rather than a proprietary one
  • Coupler, jar gaskets, blade sets, lids, the dome and the feet are stocked with printed prices, and the exploded diagram is published
  • A 500 W mixer will not grind a dosa batter and we are not going to imply it can. For batter in quantity the wet grinder is the machine, and this one is for masala, chutney and daily grinding
  • 78 dB(A) is quieter than the category and it is still loud. It is a universal motor at 18,000 rpm, and there is no way to make one of those quiet

Spares, warranty and service
Coupler
Stocked spare at Rs 90, one screw, about two minutes, standard profile
Owner-replaceable
Coupler, jar gaskets, blade sets, lids, dome, feet
Technician-replaceable
Motor, carbon brushes, switch, capacitor, thermal cutout
Spares period
7 years from purchase
What makes that real
A spares bank bought with the first production run, a seven-year supply clause in the manufacturing agreement, and the tooling held in our name
Comprehensive warranty
2 years, parts and labour
Motor warranty
5 years, separate from and additional to the comprehensive cover
Excluded
Jar denting and blade dulling from use, running past the 5 on 2 off duty rating, supply outside 180 V to 250 V, and damage caused by a repair attempt. Changing a coupler or a gasket voids nothing
Service
There is no Shuunnya service network yet, so there is no engineer count, city list or turnaround time to quote. In warranty we arrange the pickup and settle by repair, replacement or refund. Out of warranty the exploded diagram, the service manual and the part prices are published so any competent local technician can do the work
