A frost free double door refrigerator for a family of three to five, and a page that does the two sums the category leaves out. The first is gross against usable. A frost free cabinet gives up more of itself than a direct cool one does, because the evaporator sits behind a duct and a fan moves air through it, and none of that space holds food. Ours is 265 litres gross and 240 litres of storage volume to IS 7872, split 177 litres fridge and 63 litres freezer. The three capacities are 240 L of 265, 272 L of 300 and 313 L of 345, and each is on this page beside the gross figure it came from. The second is the star. At 4 star under the label in force from 1 January 2026 the 265 L draws 195 units a year, Rs 1,560 or about Rs 130 a month at Rs 8 a unit. A 5 star frost free of this size draws about 165 units, which saves 30 units or Rs 240 a year, and costs about Rs 6,000 more to buy. That is a twenty five year payback on an appliance that lives about twelve. We built the 4 star on purpose and this is the working, not a shrug.

• Inverter compressor running 1,200 to 4,500 rpm on R600a with a 58 g charge, so the cabinet holds a narrower band and the noise does not spike on start
• 37 dB(A) at one metre at steady state, to IEC 60704-2-14, and a frost free is noisier than a direct cool because it has a fan in it, which is the honest reason and not a defect
• Convertible freezer across five settings. The star and the 195 units are measured in the standard two compartment setting, because that is the only configuration BEE tests. We measured the others ourselves and full fridge mode ran about 8 percent lower, and that figure is ours, not the label
• Toughened glass shelves, 5 mm, load tested to 30 kg each, and a door gasket that pulls out of its channel by hand and is stocked 10 years at a published price
• Split outer duct, an unpotted control board and a defrost heater on a plug, so the three parts that actually fail on a frost free are parts and not assemblies. The commonest quiet cheat in this category is a potted board, which turns a Rs 400 relay failure into a Rs 6,000 module swap
• Operating range 135 V to 290 V with a cutout at both ends, and about 12 hours of cooling retention on a cut with the doors shut
• 2 years comprehensive on the whole appliance, 10 years on the sealed inverter compressor, part only, with gas charging and labour chargeable at published prices. Two promises, written as two
• No service network. Shuunnya does not have one and this listing will not invent one. Spares are held 10 years against a bank bought with the first production run and tooling held in our name, and until a service route reaches your district a comprehensive claim is answered by replacement or refund rather than a visit
• Installation is none and none is included: a level floor, 100 mm behind, 50 mm at the sides, a 6 A socket, and four hours standing upright after transport before you switch it on
