The Shuunnya promise

Both arches and the polishing inside one stated price, an honest word before the sitting if it will take two, and a plain statement of what scaling does not do.

  • Polishing is in the price, not billed as an extra afterwards
  • Full mouth means both arches. There is no half mouth surprise
  • It does not whiten teeth and it does not fix decay. Stated plainly
  • A gum check at 3 months at no charge to see whether it held

Details

Ultrasonic scaling of the full mouth to remove plaque and hardened calculus above and just below the gum line, followed by polishing. One sitting of forty scheduled minutes. Two cheats live in this procedure. The first is polishing billed as an extra afterwards, so that a Rs. 700 scaling becomes Rs. 1,100 at the desk. Polishing is inside this price. The second is the half mouth quote: a price that turns out to have covered one arch, discovered when the second is proposed. This is the full mouth, both arches, one price. And the honest trade-off, which is the part people are not warned about. Teeth are often sensitive for two or three days afterwards, and gaps that were packed solid with calculus become noticeable once the calculus is gone. That is what removing a deposit reveals; it is not damage the scaler did. Gums that were inflamed may bleed during the sitting and settle over the following week. While we are here, a piece of advice worth correcting rather than exploiting. Scaling does not loosen teeth and it does not thin enamel. An ultrasonic tip works on calculus, which is softer than enamel and is what the tip is tuned to break. The belief that scaling damages teeth is the single commonest reason people leave deposits in place for a decade, and the deposit is what does the damage. If the deposits are heavy enough to need a second sitting, you are told that BEFORE the first one begins, with the revised time and price, rather than discovering it halfway through with a mouth full of instruments. Vitals Clinic at A.P. Colony is not open. There is no practitioner in post, no premises registration and no appointment book, and this page does not pretend otherwise. What is written here is the specification: the qualification the role requires, the register the person must appear on, and the licence the premises must hold. Booking opens when those exist, and not before.

  • Full mouth, both arches, ultrasonic scaling above and just below the gum line, in one 40 minute sitting
  • Polishing included in this price, not billed afterwards
  • Told before the sitting begins if a second one is genuinely needed, with the price
  • A gum check at 3 months at no charge, to see whether it actually held
  • No whitening, no cosmetic add-on and no flavoured extra pushed during the appointment
  • The role requires BDS with current State Dental Council registration

Product information

What is included, and what is not
Time
40 scheduled minutes, one sitting
Scaling
Full mouth, both arches, ultrasonic, above the gum line and shallow subgingival deposits
Polishing
Included. Rubber cup and prophylaxis paste. It is part of this price and is never billed afterwards
Follow-up
A gum check at 3 months, no charge, to see whether the inflammation actually settled
If a second sitting is needed
You are told before the first one begins, with the revised time and price. Never discovered halfway through
NOT included, deep cleaning
Root surface debridement for advanced gum disease is a different procedure, quoted separately, and is not what this is
NOT included, whitening
A separate cosmetic procedure. Scaling removes deposit and reveals the tooth's own colour. It does not lighten it, and anybody selling scaling as whitening is selling you a misunderstanding
NOT included, fillings
Decay found during the sitting is quoted separately and is not treated in the same appointment without your agreement
Tell us first
If you take blood thinners, have a heart valve condition or an implanted device, or are pregnant. These change how the sitting is run, and they change it before it starts
Referral and commission
No commission on a referral, no target on any panel, and no revenue share with any laboratory, imaging centre or hospital. A test is asked for when the answer would change what you are told to do, and not otherwise
Who provides it, what registration that requires, and how the instruments are ha
The qualification the role requires
BDS with current State Dental Council registration under the Dentists Act 1948, checked against the register
Who is in post today
Nobody. No dentist has been appointed and no chair or scaler has been bought
Instrument handling, the specification
Scaler tips are autoclavable, not disposable, and any listing claiming single use tips has probably not looked at its own instruments. The specification is a vacuum autoclave with a chemical indicator in every load and a biological spore test at a stated interval
The log we cannot show you
No autoclave has been bought, so there is no cycle log to open. When there is one, it is open to you on request. That is the whole of what can honestly be said today
Single use items
Gloves, mask, prophylaxis cup, paste, suction tip and bib are single use and are opened in front of you
The premises licence
Registration under the Clinical Establishments Act 2010. Not yet granted
When this can be delivered
When a registered practitioner is appointed and the premises registration under the Clinical Establishments Act 2010 is granted. Not before. Nothing on this page describes a service running today
What to expect afterwards, and if something goes wrong
Sensitivity
Common for 2 to 3 days. It usually settles on its own. It is the exposed tooth surface reacting, not an injury
Gaps you can suddenly feel
Where calculus filled a space between teeth, removing it leaves the space visible. The space was already there and the deposit was hiding it
Bleeding during the sitting
Inflamed gums bleed when the deposit against them is removed. It settles over the following week as the inflammation does
The myth, corrected
Scaling does not loosen teeth or thin enamel. Calculus is softer than enamel and is what the tip is tuned to break. Leaving deposits in place for years because of this belief is what actually loosens teeth
If it was not done properly
Deposit left behind and found at the 3 month check is removed at no charge, in a fresh sitting
What is not covered
Gum disease that has already destroyed bone. Scaling manages inflammation, it does not rebuild what is gone, and no honest listing will say otherwise
