Training shorts in a 55 percent cotton and 45 percent polyester weave at 165 grams per square metre, cut at an 18 cm inseam so they clear the knee in a squat and do not ride up on a run. Both numbers on that first line are the kind that get rounded. Composition gets rounded to cotton-rich, or to cotton with no figure at all, when the garment is more than half synthetic. Weight gets quoted from the yarn rather than measured on the finished cloth, which reliably reads twenty to thirty grams heavier than the truth. The split here is settled by chemical separation to ISO 1833, which dissolves the cotton out of a weighed sample and weighs what is left, and the weight is measured to IS 1964 on a cut disc from the finished roll. A note on what we have not printed. The polyester is partly reclaimed, and we do not put a recycled mark on the label, because the certification behind those marks is a chain-of-custody audit we have not put in place for this cloth. An unaudited recycled claim is worth exactly nothing, so it is not made. There is no inner brief. A sewn-in mesh liner is the part that wears out first and it cannot be replaced without ruining the shorts.
