Cotton Canvas Wardrobe Organiser

A free-standing fabric wardrobe: a 19 mm powder-coated steel tube frame under a cover of 100 percent cotton canvas at 340 GSM. Three things go wrong with this product category and all three are decided before you can see them. The cover described as cotton canvas is usually polyester, or a polypropylene non-woven with a canvas texture printed on, which matters because stored clothes need to breathe and a sealed synthetic wardrobe holds damp and the clothes come out smelling of it. The frame described as steel is often 12 mm tube in 0.5 mm wall, which bows visibly under a few shirts and then folds. And no listing anywhere states a shelf load, which is the only number that would tell you whether it will hold what you are about to put in it.

• Cover is 100 percent cotton canvas at 340 GSM, confirmed by FTIR, so it breathes
• The shelf panels are 3 mm hardboard sleeved inside the canvas, and we print that rather than folding it into the words cotton canvas, because a fabric shelf holds nothing at all and every organiser in the market has boards in it
• Frame is 19 mm powder-coated steel tube in 0.8 mm wall, with reinforced polypropylene connectors
• Each shelf tested at 8 kg uniformly distributed, and the unit at 50 kg total
• Nylon coil zip, size 5, on the six-shelf cover, with a full-length flap
• No PVC coating on the canvas, so there is nothing on it to off-gas into stored clothing
• Azo-free below 30 mg per kg on the 24 restricted aromatic amines
• This is a fabric wardrobe and not furniture. It does not lock, the zip is not a dust seal, and it should stand against a wall rather than free in a room. Assembly is about twenty minutes and needs no tools.
